Who we are looking for
A remote Site Reliability Engineer who will be contributing solutions to complex monitoring, service management, automation, remediation and capacity management problems faced by the Company.

Site Reliability is a new and key area within our technology function. The team will work with Software Development, Platform Delivery comprising Networks, Database and Infrastructure, IT Services and other teams within the DevOps function to ensure that our critical applications continue to run effectively, requiring minimal overhead and manual intervention, whilst offering effective insights to system health.

You will develop solutions using a range of technologies to solve operational problems and work with machine data to aid the business in making informed decisions regarding capacity requirements and application health in the production estate.
Preferred skills and experience
Knowledge of contemporary monitoring tools, techniques and best practice including Splunk, ELK, APM, Nagios, and Grafana.
Excellent knowledge of SQL and programming languages including Javascript, Python, GoLang and Powershell.
Knowledge and experience of modern software development techniques and lifecycles eg. Git, Gitlab, CI/CD
Experience with automation and orchestration platforms such as Ansiblem and Jenkins.
Prior experience working in a large scale, 24/7 enterprise where system uptime and stability is of paramount importance to the business.
Keen interest of industry trends, particularly DevOps.

Main Responsibilities
Developing bespoke in house tooling using a range of technologies to aid colleagues in IT Operations in completion of their duties.
Working with automation and orchestration platforms to automate manual activity.
Building sophisticated monitoring dashboards using log data, monitoring and graphing technologies eg. Grafana, Nimsoft, Splunk, Kibana.
Maintaining and administrating existing monitoring and analytic toolsets.
Mentoring colleagues in use of new technologies or practices.
Contributing to the evolution of team processes and approaches.
Collaborating with colleagues in DevOps, Platform Delivery, IT Services and Software Development teams to determine requirements and solutions, to solve problems and progress work.
Working with IT Operations to provide and support the use of critical tooling that will enable increasing levels of value to the business.
